She was born less than 200 miles from the island and lived in her South Carolina small town until moving to Sea Pines in 1997 two years after her husband died. She became a widow at age 43. She married her childhood sweetheart and lost him to pancreatic cancer 13 years ago. Her family had vacationed on Hilton Head frequently. Before getting into real estate, Erline was a wife for 26 years & mother to their two children. She and her late husband would have celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary on Valentine’s Day 2008. Instead God has given her four wonderful grandchildren to love. Her son and dauther-in-law live on Lake Murray and are the parents to Erline’s granddaughters, Emily 11 years old and Addie 4 years old. Her daughter and son-in-law live in Aiken, S.C. and are the parents of Erline’s grandsons, Lincoln 5 years old and Jack 3 years old. Erline’s faith, children grandchildren and family are Erline’s strength. Being one of eight children is family is very important to her. Her life was changed forever when her husband died. She is highly respected, intelligent, independent professional woman that her family and friends from back home can be proud. She always says, “you can take the girl out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl”. That’s true, Erline is just as friendly as the first day we met her. When not working she volunteers at Hilton Head Medical Center, Self Family Arts Center, Life Purpose Foundation, supports March of Dimes,and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
